About the organizer

The Friends of Windjammer Days is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group of volunteers that carries on the Windjammer Days festival in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. The festival began in 1962 when Captains David and Marion Dash invited schooners sailing the New England coast to gather in the harbor, and it has grown into a weeklong festival of sailing ships that kicks off summer in the region. The 64th annual festival ran June 21-27, 2026, with events such as the Blessing of the Fleet, schooner boat tours and fireworks over the harbor.
