Panels of Hope is a children's nonprofit that uses comics, art and storytelling to bring encouragement and joy to children with chronic illnesses. It was founded by a 16-year-old immunocompromised patient who saw during a long hospital stay how isolating illness can be, and it publishes and distributes a quarterly comic newspaper with artwork from creators nationwide to encourage literacy and hope. It is the beneficiary of the Smackdown & Sketches event, a wrestling and comic convention in State College, Pennsylvania, October 23-24, 2026.
