About the organizer

UpCountry Artists is a Maine artists' association, based in Kingfield, that was organized over 30 years ago to encourage and develop visual literacy, performing arts and public art awareness through education in central and western Maine. It raises scholarship money for local high school students pursuing careers in the arts, mainly through its juried Sugarloaf Art Show and a raffle. It has also taken over the Holiday Artisan Market at Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel, held December 12-13, 2026.
